Rolling Heights
It’s the 1920’s and your career as a general contractor is about to take off. You have just started your business in a rapidly expanding city. In Rolling Heights you roll your meeples and build the city.
Gameplay
During the game players roll workers in the form of meeples. Standing meeples work hard that day and provide special actions and building materials, while face-down meeples provide nothing. You can always push your luck for better rolls, but you might lose valuable materials you need to construct new buildings. Completing buildings gains you prestige, as well as new workers to help you construct even larger buildings, including skyscrapers. Will you construct the next famous landmark?
The different coloured meeples give you either building resources or have special abilities that help you strategize your game. So which meeples you’re going accumulate also adds a nice pool building aspect to the game. Buildings score you points and give you benefits, it also matters where you place your buildings because there are different rewards across the board.
Summarised
The games is a lot of fun. Your building the city with 3D blocks in a shared space, not only does that look great it also provides players an interactive experience. Rolling the meeples is exciting and pressing your luck feels good here because the game doesn’t overly punishes you if you bust.
