Race to the Raft
Race to the Raft is a co-operative, path building, tile placement, social puzzle board game for 1-4 players. In the game, you play the role of the disorientated island cats who are lost on the smoke-filled island. Nothing seems to be where it once was, and you must find a safe route to the raft by placing pathway cards. Choose cards, build pathways, and control the spread of the fire as you work together to guide all the cats to the raft!
Gameplay
As you build pathways, fire — which is represented by different shaped tiles — will spread across the island, limiting your options. You need to find the balance between creating long pathways and keeping the cats ahead of the flames as you move towards the raft.
Players choose a scenario and place the parts as described. Everyone takes three cards from the four piles. You can always choose which pile you take cards from, but you may never show them to other players.
The game is played in turns, but with no fixed order. Together players choose which player performs an action. If you are allowed to perform a turn, you can choose between two actions:
- place a card on the board. You must then draw a fire tile and place it.
- discard a card and move a cat as far as you like (it must always follow the colour of the terrain type of the cat).
After 4 cards have been played, a fire tile is also placed. Once each player has played 3 cards and the players haven’t won or lost, every player takes another three cards and another round is played.
